Many automakers in North America planned their operation shutdown in July, which will last longer than the suspension in the summer last year, showing a decline in demand for US aluminum and steel products.
Nearly all automakers in the region will suspend their operation in July at different times of shutdown. Automakers, including Stellantis, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Daimler, Volkswagen, and Honda, were scheduled to idle their plant for several days from June to July.
The automotive industry is one of the major consumers of aluminum and steel products in North America. Therefore, the plant shutdown will hit the US steel industry a lot.
