According to statistics from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the US imported roughly 390,000 tons of aluminum (including crude steel, alloy, semi-finished products and scrap) in January, dropping by 20.9% from the same period a year ago. The imports also decreased by 15.35% from 460,000 tons in a month ago and 12% from 440,000 tons in November.
Among them, the US imported around 28,000 tons of semi-finished aluminum products, falling by 70.35% month on month and 79.12% year on year.
Besides, the US imported about 5.7 million tons of aluminum in 2019.
