Structures USA LLC plans to build a $3.3-million steel and aluminum tubular products manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown, Ky., according to the state’s governor.
The company, a manufacturing arm of Mars, Pa.-based VSI Sales LLC, will create 50 jobs in the next few years as it looks to supply tubular products to the transportation, light rail, and utility and transmission industries, Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear said in a release Sept. 6.
"Manufacturing is such a crucial component for our economic strength and we’re excited that Structures USA has chosen the commonwealth as the location of its new facility," Beshear said in a statement. Structures USA chose Kentucky in part because of the state’s high-quality work force and favorable logistics, he added.
The efforts of state and local officials also helped the decision, Structures USA chief executive officer and owner Angela DiSimone suggested in a statement.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved tax incentives of up to $200,000, Beshear’s office said.
