Shipments of Aluminum Sheet and Plate by U.S. and Canada up in July 2013

Estimated net shipments of Aluminum Sheet and Plate by U.S. and Canadian producers totaled 695.7 million pounds during July 2013, a rise of 1.1 percent over the July 2012 total of 687.9 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, shipments were up 2.3 percent over the June 2013 revised total of 679.9 million pounds. Year-to-date shipments through July 2013 totaled 4,741.1 million pounds, off nine-tenths of one percent from the 2012 year-to-date total of 4,784.9 million pounds.

Shipments of Can Stock totaled 390.8 million pounds during July 2013, an increase of 2.5 percent over the July 2012 total of 381.4 million pounds, while shipments of Non-heat Treatable Sheet (excluding Can Stock) declined 2.3 percent to 239.1 million pounds and shipments of All Other Sheet and Plate rose 6.7 percent to 65.8 million pounds.
