U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, on Thursday announced he and three colleagues established a bipartisan caucus to focus on issues of interest to the aluminum industry.
Alcoa, which is expanding and modernizing its plant in Massena, is a major employer in the 21st Congressional District, Owens said in a press release.
“My fellow co-chairs of the Aluminum Caucus and I look forward to making sure aluminum issues get the attention they deserve so this sector of our local economy continues growing and creating jobs,” he said.
Other founding members are as follows: Rep. Larry Bucshon, R-Ind., Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., and Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio.
