Recycling Today reported that the Aluminum Association has hired Mr Joe Quinn as its new VP of public affairs, effective July 15th 2013. Quinn’s responsibilities will include overseeing the association’s policy communications, advocacy strategies and media relations.
Prior to joining the Aluminum Association, Mr Quinn served as vice president of the public relations firm Edelman, where he led public affairs and corporate reputation programs for Walmart, Toyota and the American Petroleum Institute among others.
Mr Pat Franc the Aluminum Association’s chairman and president of Tri Arrows Aluminum said that "Mr Joe has a breadth of knowledge in communications and strategic public affairs, as well as experience inside Washington and I’m glad to have him on board at the association. I’m pleased that a committee of member companies participated in Joe’s selection and am very happy with where this process ended up."
Mr Heidi Brock president of the Aluminum Association said that "Mr Joe has a lot of experience positioning organizations favorably with policymakers using a multi discipline approach and I look forward to working with him to advance our member’s priorities in Washington, DC. With his background and enthusiasm, I am confident he will make a profound impact directing the Association’s public affairs efforts."
