Rail operator QR National says a contract renewal with aluminium maker Alcoa will contribute revenue of more than $400 million over 10 years.
QR National has signed a 10-year extension on a contract to haul bauxite, alumina and refinery outputs for Alcoa in the South West, it said.
The renewal will generate revenues of more than $400 million over the life of the agreement, QR National said.
"We are very pleased to continue our affiliation with Alcoa and this long-term contract is a key to ongoing success in the area," QR National freight executive vice president Ken Lewsey said in a statement.
QR shares were up five cents, or 1.58 per cent, to $3.21 at 10.20am.
