Accuride Corp. has acquired Forgitron Technologies, a forged aluminum wheel maker based in Camden, S.C.
The deal with owner Kamylon Capital gives Accuride an 80,000-square-foot forged aluminum wheel manufacturing plant, which will be converted to the production of Accuride-branded aluminum truck wheels.
“This acquisition strengthens our core product offering by increasing our aluminum wheel capacity, giving us a close-to-customer production presence in the Southeast, and affording greater flexibility to balance production between three aluminum wheel plants,” stated Rick Dauch, Accuride president and CEO.
The addition of the Camden plant will augment Accuride capacity increase plans for its Erie, Pa., plant and the addition of aluminum wheel production at its Monterrey, Mexico, facility.
