U.S. aluminum output up in Feb., Canada slides

The rate of North American aluminum production rose for the sixth straight month in February as U.S. smelters continued to ramp up idled potlines amid rising demand.

Combined U.S. and Canadian output was at an annualized rate of 4,801,027 tonnes in February, up 0.7 percent from January’s 4,766,794-tonne annualized rate and up.
