MADISON—Governor Jim Doyle today announced that U.S. Aluminum, Inc., Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, will receive $35,000 in tax credits from the Economic Development Tax Credit Program from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) to consolidate its manufacturing and administration facility in Wauwatosa.
“Even in these tough national economic times, we have already seen the powerful effects that economic development tax credits can have on our state’s economy,” Governor Doyle said. “Therefore, it is critical that we continue to invest in strong companies that are willing to create jobs in Wisconsin.”
U.S. Aluminum, Inc. manufactures and distributes aluminum rain gutter products. The company plans to move its manufacturing facility from Milwaukee to its administration facility in Wauwatosa. The consolidation of the facilities allows U.S. Aluminum, Inc. to expand its operations and create a second work shift. The company will invest approximately $100,000 and create 21 jobs.
This project builds on Governor Doyle’s efforts to position Wisconsin for future growth. Since taking office in 2003, Governor Doyle has worked aggressively to create and retain jobs in Wisconsin. Governor Doyle’s budget last year created some of the strongest economic development tools in the nation to help businesses create jobs and get people back to work. Wisconsin now has powerful new tax credits to help manufacturers create and retain jobs, new tools to help investors create start-ups, and new incentives to spur research and development.
