U.S. secondary aluminum alloy prices are under pressure after Aleris International Inc. dropped its selling price on A380.1 by a few cents per pound last week.
The Beachwood, Ohio-based producer made spot sales last week at between $1.09 and $1.10 per pound, 2 cents below the going market price of $1.11 to $1.12 per pound. Aleris, the largest alloy producer in the United States, usually sells on contract rather than entering the spot market and future market.
