The Aluminum Association’s Cans for Causes Program is partnering with Recycling for Food Inc., based in West Bend, Wis., to help the homeless.
Cans for Causes is a program sponsored by the Aluminum Association to help organizations boost recycling efforts.
Recycling for Food began in June 2010 to help conserve resources and use recyclables to help people in need. The organization’s mission is to encourage more recycling, and to use the cash value of the recyclables to feed the homeless.
“We are excited to hold our first recycling drive,” says Michael Marks, president. “AirTran, LifeLock, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters have been generous enough to donate some tickets and products for our donors. We want to show that recycling not only helps the environment, but can also save the lives of those less fortunate.”
