Alcoa To Benefit From A Pair of Bills Signed Into Law

FERNDALE,Wash. -- The Alcoa aluminum smelter near Ferndale will benefit from a pair of bills signed into law yesterday by Governor Christine Gregoire. 

The bills give tax breaks to aluminum smelter and computer server farms.

The legislature is trying to patch a nearly three billion dollar state budget deficit, but Gregoire says extending the tax breaks is important, even in this budget climate becuase it helps keep people employed.
