Alcoa's Point Comfort operations received a visit from corporate heavyweights on Thursday.
Klaus Kleinfeld, company president and chief executive officer, and other leaders toured the facility and met local staffers.
Kleinfeld wanted to learn more about what the local staff does and to connect with Alcoa and its businesses on a personal level, said Laurel Cahill, spokeswoman for the Point Comfort site.
"The best way to do that is to come out and see the people making the products ..." Cahill said Thursday afternoon. "We had the opportunity to familiarize a lot of people with our business here and what we're all about."
Kleinfeld's one-day visit was an honor for the company, Cahill said.
"We're just thrilled he was able to come see us," she said.
