Dozens of workers at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc are on strike over a clause in their contract.
The strike started at midnight.
Thirty-eight members of Local 301 of the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International union picketed outside of the company that employs about 300 people.
They say the company wants to remove contract clause which protects their wages and benefits if the company were to be sold.
"Years ago this was always in their successor clause. Your forefathers fought for it, for the union to have that in there to cover your rights, and we just wanted to keep that in there," Cory Nimmer of Local 301 said.
Action 2 News tried contacting the company. At the time of this writing, representatives did not returned our calls.
