US aluminum sheet maker JW Aluminum has entered into a definitive agreement to buy Coastal Aluminum Rolling Mill, which operates a rolling mill facility in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
This came on the heels of JW buying Rollex Aluminum's rolling facility in Jackson, Tennessee. Said Don Kassing, president and CEO of JW, "We believe this acquisition will create tremendous synergies in both the technology and new product areas."
Added Sammy Peek, director of marketing for JW Aluminum, "Coastal will bring new products to our portfolio, and will allow JW Aluminum to enter the Aerospace and other high strength aluminum markets. In addition, by combining Coastal's coating capabilities with JW Aluminum's capabilities, we believe we will be the top provider of value-added coating and painting services in the
industry."
Coastal produces light-gauge 3000- and 5000-series alloys used for honeycomb by the aerospace industry, and its division Chromagraphic Processing supplies coated aluminum coil for window blind fabricators and distributors in the US and around the world.
