Alcan the ways in which its $27 billion bid for the company meets or exceeds Alcan’s continuity agreement with the Government of Quebec.
Alcoa, the New York-based aluminum company said the continuity agreement identifies the requirements it must meet regarding Alcan’s future operations in the province in order to maintain certain of Alcan’s hydroelectric and water rights.
Alcoa also said it has asked Alcan’s directors to begin the review period contemplate by the agreement.
