US aluminum sheet maker JW Aluminum has completed its acquisition of Rollex Aluminum's rolling facility in Jackson, Tennessee. The addition of the Jackson mill brings significant additional capacity to JW and adds 131 new employees to the JW team.
The acquisition of the rolling mill will enhance JW's capabilities and expand its product offering, it said. The new facility in Jackson will also complement the company's other existing facilities in Mt. Holly, South Carolina; St. Louis, Missouri; and Russellville, Arkansas.
Rollex, which makes aluminum and metal moldings for the kitchen, bath and siding industries, bought the Jackson mill from Ormet in 2004 for $12.8 million. The plant produces coated aluminum sheets and foil products for architectural, recreational and appliance products for the electronics and packaging industries.
JW Aluminum makes specialty flat-rolled aluminum products including fin stock used by the heating and cooling industry, light gauge converter foil for the flexible packaging industry, and heavier gauge sheet for the building and construction markets, as well as other foil and sheet products.
