LME aluminum largely shrugs off news that Alcoa has lost production from one 107,000 metric tons a year capacity potline at its Tenessee operations due to electrical storms, a London broker says. "If it's out for 6 months you're still only talking 50,000 tons," he notes. Alcoa says it could take several months to repair the line. LME aluminum is last at $2820/ton, down $2/ton from the kerb.
