Current Aluminum Prices
On March 4, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was the cash price of primary aluminum, which saw a 2.9 percent decline on the LME to $1,914 per metric ton. The aluminum 3-month price weakened by 2.8 percent on the LME, settling at $1,961 per metric ton.
After falling for two days, the Indian aluminum cash price rose 1.7 percent.
Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.3 percent on Monday. The Chinese aluminum cash price fell 0.2 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement. The price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat.
Current Copper Prices
Dropping 2.7 percent on the LME, the copper cash price was the biggest mover on March 4, 2013, closing at $7,620 per metric ton. The 3-month price of copper saw a 2.5 percent decline on the LME to $7,664 per metric ton.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 fell 1 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 110 weakened by 1 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 102 saw a 0.9 percent decline.
The cash price of primary Japanese copper saw little movement.
Chinese copper closed mixed yesterday. Chinese copper bar finished the day down 0.7 percent. The Chinese copper cash price declined 0.7 percent. Chinese copper wire fell 0.7 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row.
