Rio Tinto to Close Lynemouth Smelter, Make 323 Workers Redundant

 Rio Tinto Group said it will close the Lynemouth aluminum smelter in Northumberland, England, on March 29. Of the 515 people employed at the smelter, 323 will be made redundant in May, Rio said in a statement today.
