LME lead is being underpinned by the other base metals with traders awaiting the release of stock data at 0800 GMT for near-term direction, a London broker says. "A substantial stock increase in Singapore would probably have done more damage on Tuesday if all the other markets hadn't rallied strongly in the afternoon and given some sympathetic support," he notes. LME lead is last at $2,022/ton, +3% from Tuesday's low.
