Sellers are capping LME aluminum as soon as the market approaches the $2,900 a metric ton level and a period of consolidation is needed before a fresh assault is likely, a London-based broker says. "We've seen this happen so many times to aluminum and it'll take a significant boost to volumes and investment to push the market above $3,000/ton," he adds. LME aluminum is last at $2,850/ton, up 1% from Wednesday's low, but 1% below Wednesday's high.
