MARKET TALK: LME Zinc Players Go Short In Copper Basket Trade

The selloff in LME zinc has left players short the market and may be a "basket trade" strategy along with copper, a London broker says. Notes that players have "simultaneously gone long copper" and that this is likely to be part of a new month/quarter plan. LME copper is last at $7015 a metric ton, +3% from Monday and LME zinc is at $3195/ton, -2% from Monday.
