MARKET TALK: LME Nickel At New High; Sellers Absent

LME nickel prices is at a fresh high of $36,250 a metric ton as ongoing supply woes mean there's little reason to sell, a broker says. Trade and speculative interest pushes prices up 3% on the day and 11% higher on the week. A looming strike at Xstrata Sudbury union, which could start at the end of the month, is the current focus of attention, the broker adds. LME nickel trades last at $36,000/ton.
