MARKET TALK: LME Quiet Trade, Copper Arbitrage Buying

Trade on LME metals is "very quiet" Monday morning with traders busy attending to Third Wednesday business. LME copper rises slightly on arbitrage buying of LME futures and selling copper futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange, says a trader. "Aluminum has seen some consumer buying while zinc is up on speculative interest," he says. LME 3-month copper last trades at $6,715/ton, up $50 on the Monday PM kerb, aluminum at $2,801, up $14 and zinc at $4,385, up $45.
