London Metal Exchange lead is flat at $5 a metric ton as market participants "assess the damage" from an 8% sell-off Wednesday, a trader says. "The speed of yesterday's selling took the market by surprise and we're waiting to see whether lead can rebuild a base," he adds. Notes the 30-day moving average is around $1,640/ton, just below where the market is currently holding. LME lead trades at $1,650/ton, up from a low of $1,590/ton Wednesday.
