That Dubai Aluminium (Dubal) is a producer of 'green metal' is undisputed now that the Gulf company has been told that it's products are suitable for sustainable building practices.
The good news comes in the shape of approval from two leading bodies – the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) otherwise known as the German Sustainable Building Council.
Dubal says that declarations from both organisations 'underscore the company's corporate commitment to sustainability' and, more specifically, it's commitment to the global agenda of environmental protection.
Walid Al Attar, Dubal's executive vice president for marketing and sales, said the ratings place Dubal in a very strong position in terms of it being specified by end users in the building and construction industry around the world.
"This is a major development for Dubal, as more than 60% of our annual production comprises aluminium billets that are used extensively by extruders to produce construction components, such as window and door frames," Al Attar said.
According to Al Attar, the newly announced ratings represent a 'key differentiator in the local market' where billets account for the major proportion of annual sales.
With sustainability built-in to all new construction projects in the UAE from next year onwards, Dubal's latest news, says the company, illustrates the company's commitment to supporting the country's green building agenda..
