Aluminum foil output in Armenia enlarged 17% to 20,210 tons

YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. Armenal plant produced 20,210 tons of aluminum foil over the period between January and October 2010 （17% year-on-year growth）, National Statistical Service of Armenia reported on Wednesday.

Some 23 tons of rolled aluminum were produced in Jan-Oct 2010 （47.8% year-on-year contraction）.

Armenal CJSC was established in May 2000 with participation of Russian Aluminum Company and KanAZ OJSC.

In January 2003, Russian Rusal became the sole holder of Armenal’s shares.

On October 26, 2006, Rusal Armenal, plant producing aluminum foil, was re-launched after a two-year substantial modernization that took $70 million.
