DUBAI: Dubai's economy grew 2.3 per cent in the first six months of 2010, the Dubai Statistics Authority said, confirming remarks by its executive director published on Wednesday.
"The sectors of manufacturing, transport, logistics, services, wholesale and retail trade, hotels, restaurants and government services achieved positive growth," Arif Obaid al-Muhairi was quoted as saying on the website of the daily Emirates 24-7.
The Emirate's real estate sector contributed 11 per cent to the economy in the first six months, he said, down from 14 per cent for whole of 2009, and 17 per cent in 2008.
