Emirates Aluminium achieves ISO 9001:2008 certification for production of sow ingots

Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for production of sow ingots. The certification audit was conducted by TUV Rheinland on Thursday, May 6. ISO 9001:2008 is a quality management standard. It can help both product and service organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world.

In line with EMAL's business strategy to implement Integrated Management System, detailed planning was undertaken to achieve the ISO 9001:2008 certification. As part of the plan, awareness sessions were conducted to communicate IMS (Integrated Management System) policy at all levels. Special emphasis was given to integrate all systems and processes in one complete framework, enabling EMAL's various departments to work as a single unit with unified objectives, with personnel from different departments trained as IMS internal process auditors.
