SEOUL, March 3 (Reuters) - South Korea has bought 3,000 tonnes of aluminium ingot for shipping between March and April at a lower premium than its previous purchase, the state-run Public Procurement Service (PPS) said on Wednesday.
The agency said on its web site (www.g2b.go.kr) that it bought the metal of non-specific western origin from local trading firm Hanwha Corp at a premium of $117 a tonne over London Metal Exchange (LME) cash prices on a cost, insurance and freight (CIF) basis for April 30 arrival at the port of Incheon.
That compared to the $126 per tonne premium over LME cash prices, CIF, agreed in December for 3,000 tonnes to be delivered between Feb. 1 and Mar. 31.
