Novelis Completes Plant Expansion in Korea

Seoul. March 18-- Novelis Korea Limited announces today that it has completed the $30 million expansion of rolled aluminum products manufactory in Yongju.
This project lasts for two years, including installing the fourth stander on the plant’s consecutive hot-rolling mill as well as promoting its cold-rolling mill, painting lines and related finishing equipment.
“The expansion of Yongju manufactory has improved our ability in providing quality aluminum sheets for our Asian customers. The investment is a key move in carrying out our business strategy to strengthen high value product portfolio in the most rapidly growing market across the world.”said Martha Brooks, president and CEO of Novelis Inc, parent company of Novelis Korea Limited.
Novelis is the subsidiary company of Hindalco Industries Limited, largest integrated aluminum producer and a leading copper producer. Hindalco is also a leading aluminum sheet supplier in Korea, China and southeast Asia, as well as a leader in the field of aluminum rolling production and recycle aluminum cans.
Hindalco has operations in 11 countries with 12,900 employees, and annual operation income is over $11billion. It provides quality aluminum sheets and aluminum foils for north America, south America, Europe and Asia across the sectors of auto, transportation, package, construction, industry and printing.
Novelis is expected to expand its annual capacity of aluminum rolling production by about 10,000 tons from the project.
