Kaiser Aluminum Tuesday said it has entered into a new agreement to supply Bombardier Aerospace with aluminium plate and sheet products. The long-term contract will run through 2012 and extends Kaiser Aluminum's long-standing relationship with Bombardier.
Kaiser Aluminum's plate and sheet product will be used to produce components of Bombardier's aircraft. The increase in volume contemplated under the new agreement was possible as a result of additional capacity created by Kaiser Aluminum's $105 million expansion at its Trentwood rolling mill in Spokane, Washington.
"As a result of the capacity expansion at our Trentwood facility, we've created the opportunity to meet Bombardier's demand for high-quality fabricated aluminium products," said Jack A. Hockema, chairman, president and CEO, Kaiser Aluminum.
Kaiser Aluminum is a leading producer of fabricated aluminium products for aerospace and high-strength, general engineering, and automotive and custom industrial applications. The company has more than 2,000 employees and 11 plants in North America and produces more than 500 million pounds annually of value-added sheet, plate, extrusions, forgings, rod, bar and tube.
