With the new director for sustainable development’s focus being on the implementations of RUSAL’s sustainable development strategy. This will target all divisions of the company, including the wider climate strategy implemented to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Previously, Irina Bakhtina has served as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Komi Republic, coordinating the issues of socio-economic development, the formation of investment and innovation policy of the region. Prior to her work in the deputy position, Ms Bakhtina worked for 20 years across a number of senior positions many international corporations.
Irina Bakhtina graduated from the Far Eastern State University (Vladivostok) with a degree in Journalism, and has completed the INSEAD Business School executive program in Strategic Management, as well as the externship of the Higher School of Management of St. Petersburg State University in Economics.
