According to United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), the second-largest aluminum producer in the world, the production of green carbon aluminum was expected to be started next year, with an estimated supply of exceeding 10 million tons per year, and the sales will reach 3.5 million tons per year by 2025.
There is a strict limit on green carbon aluminum production, whose carbon dioxide emissions should be lower than 4-7 tons for each ton of aluminum production.
Roman Andryushin, the Director of Sales and Marketing of RUSAL, said that the current global green carbon aluminum supply is less than 10 million tons, accounting for roughly 15-17% of the total primary aluminum supply in the world, but the proportion was expected to grow rapidly in the next 5-10 years.
