United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), a leading aluminum producer in the world, predicted that the global demand for aluminum will be up by 1.3% in 2020, reaching 66.1 million tons.
The global demand for aluminum in 2019 was up by 0.1% to 65.3 million tons, of which the demand from China rose by 2.4%, totaling 36.8 million tons.
According to RUSAL, the manufacturers’ global business activity index increased in early 2020, showing that the global economy was recovering. Also, the production of new vehicles such as electric cars and an increase in the aluminum proportion in automotive materials will push the global aluminum demand to go up.
