RUSAL eying bauxite project in Australia

It is reported that the Russian company RUSAL turned to the government of the Australian state of Queensland and expressed interest in buying Aurukun, an uncompleted bauxite project priced at AUD 3 billion.


According to the report, RUSAL started negotiations with state authorities in August after the Aluminum Corporation of China left the agreement on mine development at Aurukun and aluminous refinery construction at Abbot Point.
