YEKATERINBURG/MOSCOW, Feb 2 (Reuters) - A fire broke out at a Siberian aluminium powder plant belonging to Russia's UC RUSAL , killing one person, but the plant's operations were not affected, UC RUSAL said on Tuesday.
The fire was preceded by an explosion at the production workshop of the Shelekhov Powder Metallurgy plant in the Irkutsk region, RUSAL said. It was investigating the cause.
"The fire has been localised. The production equipment has been stopped. There is no threat to the environment. This accident did not affect the aluminium production volumes of RUSAL," the company said in a statement.
