MOSCOW--Russian companies OAO Rusal, Sual and Switzerland-based Glencore AG have completed their merger deal creating United Company Rusal, the world's largest producer of primary aluminum by volume, the companies said Tuesday in a joint statement.
The merger, unveiled last October, has taken nearly six months to clear the relevant antitrust and other issues surrounding it.
The deal will create a company with annual sales of $12 billion, producing 4 million metric tons of primary metal and 11 million tons of alumina a year.
