MOSCOW (RNWire) - SUAL Group's three downstream aluminium enterprises have fulfilled their annual production plans ahead of time.
By November 27 Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgic Plant (KUMZ) has manufactured 102,837 tons of products, which amounts to 100% of the annual production plan and exceeds the figures for 2005 by 13.1%. It is forecasted that by the end of 2006 KUMZ will manufacture 110,000 tons of aluminium products, exceeding the levels of 2005 by 21% in weight terms and by 37% in current prices.
SUAL-Powder Metallurgy (SUAL-PM) has fulfilled the annual production plan by October 23, having manufactured 3,627 tons of products. It is planned that the overall volume of output in 2006 will equal to 4,085 tons, exceeding last year's figures by 11%. Krasnoturyinsk branch of SUAL-PM has fulfilled its annual production plan by October 26, having manufactured 7,384 tons of products. Based on results of the year, the branch is expected to manufacture 8,534 tons of products, exceeding 2005 levels by 5.2%.
Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgic Plant is Russia's second largest and SUAL Group's largest producer of downstream aluminium products. The plant manufactures a wide range of products for the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries. Products manufactured by KUMZ were used in space ships Vostok and Voskhod, in orbital stations Salyut and Mir, in rocket carriers Proton. The plant took part in the construction of the international space station Alfa.
Today the plant manufactures aluminium and aluminium alloy semi-finished products, which include products made out of Al-Li alloys and magnesium-based alloys. More than 50% of its production is exported, mainly to the United States and Europe. The plant's production corresponds to international standards, while production processes at the enterprise are certified under ISO 9001 standard.
SUAL-Powder Metallurgy (SUAL-PM) manufactures powders and aluminium alloys. The enterprise is located in Shelekhov. It also has branches at industrial grounds of Bogoslovsky and Volgograd aluminium smelters.
SUAL-PM's system of quality management is certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 international standard. The enterprise was the first among SUAL Group's plants to develop, implement and undergo certification of environmental protection management system according to ISO 14001:1996 standard. Today SUAL-PM holds ISO 14001:2004 certificate.
