The Boksit Timana mining company, run on equal terms by Russia's two largest aluminium producers Rusal and Sual, said Tuesday it increased its bauxite output in January-November by 22.9% on year to 2.27 million metric tons.
Boksit Timana, part of the Komi Aluminy project, plans to produce this year 2.828 million tons of bauxite, 39.6% more than in 2005.
Boksit Timana plans to increase output to 6 million tons by 2008, when the Sosnogorsky alumina plant, constructed by Komi Aluminy, will be commissioned.
The Sredne-Timanskoe bauxite deposit, developed by Boksit Timana has reserves of 260 million tons. The Sosnogorsky alumina plant will produce annually 1.2-1.4 million tons of alumina.
