Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro said last Friday (September 8) that it will invest around NOK 200 million to modernize and expand Alumetal, a recycling plant in K?ty, Poland, which was 100% acquired by Hydro at the end of June.
With the investment, Hydro’s first funding in Alumetal, the capacity of foundry alloys at this plant will be raised by around 30,000 tons, which will further consolidate Alumetal’s position in the automotive market.
According to the statement from Hydro, the modernized recycling plant is scheduled to be put into operation in the first half of 2025.
