Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world's largest aluminum smelter ex-China, inaugurated a Mangrove Nursery on July 26 to mark the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystem. Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali said that the project is part of the company’s goal of eliminating climate change.
The Mangrove Nursery, which started to be cultivated this February, is located at Alba’s HRH Princess Sabeeka Oasis. It covers an area of 8,600 square feet, containing 12,000 mangrove shrubs, and will then be further expanded to 20,000 mangrove shrubs.
