According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled around 10.23 million tons in February this year, sliding by 10.4% compared to the preceding month and by 0.29% from the year-ago level.
Among them, China was still the largest alumina producer in the world, producing 5.84 million tons of alumina in February, a month-on-month decrease of 9.7%.
In the first two months of this year, global alumina production amounted to approximately 21.65 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 1.75%. China’s output accounted for 12.31 million tons, up by 4.7% year on year.
