According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global primary aluminum production totaled 5.888 million tons this August, rising by nearly 3.5% compared to the year-ago period.
In August, the daily primary aluminum output averaged 189,900 tons, compared to the revised figure of 189,600 tons in the preceding month.
China's primary aluminum production was expected to be 3.5 million tons in August, compared to the previous month's revised amount of 3.497 million tons.
