According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global primary aluminum production totaled around 11.57 million tons in August, sliding by 0.89% compared to the previous month while rising by 4.53% from the same month a year ago.
In August, China’s primary aluminum production was 6.28 million tons, keeping flat month on month and up by 2.45% year on year.
During the period, the global daily average production of alumina was 373,100 tons. In the first eight months of this year, global alumina production amounted to approximately 92.63 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.56%.
