Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfiq said that the US’ construction and engineering company Bechtel has completed an engineering study for the expansion plan of Egyptalum, the largest aluminum producer in Egypt.
This expansion plan was divided into two phases. It was expected to increase Egyptalum’s annual production capacity by 500,000 tons.
The plan also included the construction of a car tire factory, for the growing domestic demand and export.
Egyptalum’s development plan and Bechtel’s feasibility study will soon be submitted to the President for making decisions, said Hisham Tawfiq.
