Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company, reported that its core profit in the second quarter exceeded expectations due to the growing demand for aluminum supported by the global economic recovery.
With the global economic recovery from the COVID-19 epidemic and the increase in the consumption of aluminum used in the automotive and aerospace sectors, the demand for aluminum was boosted accordingly.
In the second quarter of this year, Norsk Hydro’s adjusted EBITDA was 6.6 billion Norwegian crowns, more than doubled year on year, and the figure was also higher than analysts’ average forecast of US$6.09 billion.
