Brazil's Council of the Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex) announced on October 22 to increase import quotas on non-alloy aluminum products from 150,000 tons to 180,000 tons for this year.
The products involved in the exemption included non-alloy aluminum T bars, raw aluminum ingots, and aluminum ingots; meanwhile, the Brazilian government allowed the additional 30,000 tons of metalloids to be imported to Brazil before the end of the year.
The Brazilian economy is gradually recovering after the coronavirus epidemic eased. Market participants hoped that the government could allow more exemption on imported aluminum products.
